The new Falong management committee regard the security of the condominium buildings as paramount, with the safety and comfort of their residents being their highest priority. This building is run by elected falongs and who supervise a Thai management company to run the day to day affairs. To conform to the highest international standards, access is limited to security key card holders only, with both a 24/7 CCTV security-monitoring system and a team of ever-vigilant gate guards on duty to assure the ongoing safety of the residents. Travel time to Walking street is about 6 minutes. Changing money is not a problem as there is the TMB Major Bank right at our entrance gate

DANCEWATCHER'S PATTAYA V.I.P. ROOM REVIEWS

Since my first visit to Pattaya in January 2010 I have been reading this site daily. From this reading I came across a post from another BM (Temujin) who had very positive things to say about this room and the treatment received from Tik and her staff. I then checked out the dancewatchers website and found the link I needed. The room looked really cool in the photos. I checked the calendar and discovered that I could only get the room for a week (as some other lucky punter (maybe a BM) has the room for a month). I sent an email to Tik and she responded in 20 or so minutes - pretty unbelievable. Anyway, she provided me with the daily rate details, and since I was going to go all out on this holiday I opted for the "Burning Rose" option and even the "Option A" of having cash waiting for me in the safe. After confirming dates with work and getting flights arranged I had Tik invoice me the full amount. I didn't worry about a deposit - I wanted to get the money thing out of the way and have a zero balance upon checking in - AND - dancewatcher and Tik (his lovely wife) have been running this business (primarily Tik) for quite sometime now. Many BM's have stayed in their numerous managed properties and I have yet to hear something negative, so I didn't worry about paying upfront.
The "Burning Rose" option... Now when I saw this on the webpage I thought to myself... This sort of sounds like an insurance policy to me, in the way that if I meet a Thai lady with very minimal English skills that I'll get Tik's assistance when needed. Plus the daily cleaning and full laundry service was something I was looking for anyway. I figured that I should have some cash waiting for me in the safe so I opted for "Option A". Then I patiently waited for the days to pass by and my holiday to begin.
About a week before my flight I sent Tik my flight details and that I had already arranged a car to bring me down to Jomtien from the airport. I gave her an estimated arrival time for me at VT2A and she gave me instructions for entering the building and locating her office. She (or one of her staff) would be there to meet me.
13 October 2010
I arrived at the building thirty minutes early. I entered the building lobby and turned right and walked down to Tik's office. Which is on the left next to a little laundry place (this is a good one Tik suggested, so I used it the whole time). The door was locked, so I pressed the doorbell (up to the left of the door frame) and no one was around. I started walking back towards the lobby and a very friendly Thai lady asked me if I was "______"(insert real name) and I say "Yes." She then introduces herself as Tang (I hope I got that right) and we enter into Tik's office. She gives me an envelope with the "Option A" cash in it... wow - they aren't kidding when they say brick... 2k in 20's and 5k in 50's. We then headed upstairs to the room via the lift. It's located on the 5th floor and faces south.
We enter the room and the blue lighting is already on and the place looks OUTSTANDING! Tang gives me a tour of the room and the many light switches. She also shows me where spare bed linens and towels are. Everything in the fridge is mine and there's a nice fruit basket sitting on the coffee table. Tang then shows me the safe and stands by while I program a PIN in; just to make sure I've done it right. (Anyway, the safe also comes with a key - which is the way all these room safes should work around the world.) Tang asks me what time I would like my daily cleaning and I figured that even if I have someone in the room with me that we should be out and about by 2pm, so 2pm it was set for. She then gave me a mobile phone and I quickly looked at it and saw there were quite a few numbers preprogrammed into it. She told me to contact Tik if I needed anything else and she trotted off down the hall.
I looked around the room a little more and found a nice collection of DVD's (some great SCI-FI) and I even recall seeing a few naughty DVD's. The TV is HUGE! The in room computer is the best idea! (So easy to do TR updates!) The fan above the bed is interesting... The blades are clear plastic and when not spinning it forms this clear sort of cocoon around the light...
then hopped into the shower to get ready to get out and live it up. It was a very nice shower except for one thing... bumping into the glass shelving in the corner of the shower (this became a slight issue for the rest of my stay). The shower was nice and felt great after the semi-long haul from Sydney to Singapore to Bangkok.
After getting ready to go out for the night I headed out to the front of the complex to jump on a Baht Bus into Pattaya. When I walked by the guard shack he steps out and pops a salute - and didn't drop the salute until I returned it... I was back in the army again! Anyway, I ventured off the property and crossed the.... street? - no, dirt road is better. They're doing roadworks in front of VT2 right now and the roads are bad. Anyway, I jumped on a baht bus and 20 baht later I was one block from Walking Street and the night was young.
When I returned to the room that night (with new friend) the ambiance of the room was magical and a great time was had. I slept very soundly and found the mattress perfect.
From that day on until I checked out the following week I had a blast and the room was perfect everyday. I even went looking for dirt or dust and couldn't find any. One day the cleaners came by while I was updating my TR. I asked if it was okay for me to continue on the computer and they said it was. So I started back into my TR and noticed after about a minute or so that the cleaners weren't doing much cleaning - so I looked over to my right and they were still standing in the foyer looking at me in amazement - one of them says to me "you so fast - so fast!" - She was referring to my typing. I've been in IT for 16+years and spend most of my work day on a keyboard.
Negatives...
There are only two things that I would change about the room...
1. The glass shelving in the shower.
2. Putting a clock or alarm clock in the room. There's a small clock on the DVD player, but it's very small and hard to see from the bed.
Motorbike Rental
I rented a motorbike from Tik for five days. It was new, fully insured and had great breaks. It came with two helmets and was a whole bunch of fun.
Building Info
VT2A is a nice place to stay. The pool was really nice and always plenty of seating available. The poolside restaurant was good and inexpensive. The laundry next to Tik's office did a great job - recommended by Tik. I ate at the Issan Restaurant and had #11 - very nice. I ate a bunch of times from the German Restaurant. (I lived in Germany for three years [out in the farmlands] and can say that this has some very nice German food - better than I can get here in Sydney.) Place an order and then head up to your room - they'll deliver it shortly.
So as not to turn this review into a TR I'll stop it here and just say this about the room... Rent it! You won't be disappointed. I moved into Baboona for the last week of my holiday and sorely missed VT2A. At Baboona I was paying 200baht above the VIP room per day rate to have a beachfront room - a smaller room - with no computer - a loud a/c system - no where to put my suitcase - no drawers to put my clothes - no smiling face (Tik) every time I walked down the hall to get food / go swimming / get massage / go to laundry.
I am currently planning another trip in February and though this room is already booked (lucky b*stard), I am currently discussing my options with Tik. If I book this other room I'll post a report on it when I return.
Cheers...
