Tik and I took a flight with Air Asia to Krabi and then took one of the larger speed boats to Koh Phi Phi. After checking into the Koh Phi Phi hotel we took a shower and then went to the beach to rent a long boat to go to Koh Phi Phi Lay where I wanted to take a photo shoot. We found a captain of a long boat and agreed on 800 baht for 4 hours. We were off in a flash and it only took about 20 minutes to make the trip. He took us too many small coves and inlets and we would stop from time to time and take some photos. I had bought a mask and snorkel for Tik so I got her geared up and she went to look at all the little fish. You could hear her through the snorkel talking to the little fish trying to get them to come to her. She had a wonderful time snorkeling and talked about it for weeks. After she had her fill of swimming I told the captain to find us a small little beach where he could leave us for 15 minutes so I could take some sexy photos of her. He found a nice place and he agreed to come back for us in about 15 minutes. Tik got in a nice sexy swim suit and I started to take some nice photos when all of a sudden she started jumping around screaming “ Something biting me “ She had backed into a nest of mosquitoes and they were eating her alive. She made a dash for the water only to discover another boat heading into the beach. She returned for her swim gear and then to the water. They had bitten her about 20 times but she was now safe in the water. That kind of spoiled the rest of the photo shoots so we just continued to enjoy the day and visited more beaches before returning back to Koh Phi Phi Don. I must say that the beaches and scenery is fantastic. The snorkeling was wonderful. If you have a chance to visit Koh Phi Phi make sure you hire one of the long boats and visit all the hidden treasures. After getting back to the hotel we showered, played and took a nap only to wake up to discover it was past midnight. We left to explore the night life and found it very active. The small streets were full of shops which were still open and many little beer bars. There were a few discos and you could hear music in the distance. We followed our ears and ended up in a small little disco full of cute little Thai girls.
The hotel is a good value for your baht. There are a lot more expensive hotels to choose from but we did not expect to spend a lot of time in the room. The second day we explored the island and the many beaches. We met many tourists and Tik played with many of the western babies that were on the beach. Their mothers were happy to let Tik play with them as this gave them the chance to run into the water to cool off while their baby was in good hands. The sun was hot and there were many half naked tourists getting their tans. We then explored the many small streets and found a lot of island trinkets to take back with us. The next day the hotel required an 11 am check out and our boat was due to leave at 3:30 pm so we left our bags in the lobby and headed to the beach. We spent a few hours on the beach and then met up with Jerry and his girl. Jerry had injured his arm and was fighting a serious infection so swimming was not an option for him. Tik and I headed off to find a restaurant and wait for our boat to leave. The boat left on time and it was a quick hour ride to the coast of Ao Nang but to our surprise the tide was out and I mean really out. They transferred use to a long boat which took us closer to shore but then they ran out of water. So they dropped us off with our bags in the middle of the bay in knee deep water. There were a lot of older people on board with a lot of bags and there was no one there to help. It took Tik and me about 20 minutes to make the walk in the shallow water and mud back to the beach where a 30 year old bus was waiting for us. I looked back before getting on the bus and took a few photos of the people still walking back to the beach. Even after getting back to the beach people were still be transferred to the long boats and the sun was setting fast.
Tik and I were dropped off by the bus driver at our hotel which was called the Cozy Place. It was a new 5 story building and the room price was 1,500 baht. The room was wonderful with a large flat screen mounted to the wall, a huge king sized bed and of course everything was new. We rented another motor bike from the hotel and we were off in search of a sea food dinner. We found a very nice place by the bay and Tik ordered about 7 dishes. She is a small girl but finished most of what she had ordered. After dinner we drove around and stopped at Ao Nang market area where she went shopping for souvenirs for her family. After her shopping bag was full we went back to the hotel and had a very good night’s rest. The next morning we took our flight to the airport and Tik and I said goodbye and I took a taxi to The Nana Hotel. The rest of the story another time.
